Population of Komi Republic melts like spring snow

According to statistics of the Republic of Komi, 720,610 people were living in the Republic of Komi on 1 January 2024, down from 734,363 on 1 January 2022.

Thus, over the two years, the republic’s population has decreased by 13,753 people, with a particular decrease in the urban population.

In 1989, there were over 1.2 million inhabitants in the republic, which means that in 25 years, the population of the Republic of Komi has fallen by half a million.
