Competition for Ilmapuu Award 2026

Nominations for the Ilmapuu (World Tree) Award under the Kindred Peoples’ Programme are now accepted. Nominations may be submitted until 5 May 2026. 

With the Ilmapuu Award, individuals are recognised for outstanding civic initiatives:

• whose work is effectively and commendably linked to the cultural identity and survival of related peoples,
• who has made a significant contribution to strengthening co-operation with Finno-Ugric peoples and promoting awareness of these peoples in Estonia and throughout Europe.

The winner of the Award will be announced on the Votic spring festival (maaentšäüz), which this year falls on 21 May.
