Ethnic Science Award 2022: Kindred People’s Programme calls for nominations

This year, the competition welcomes the works of researchers who are based outside of the Russian Federation. Applications should be submitted electronically. The deadline for submitting nominations is 31 August 2022.

Kindred People’s Programme calls for nominations for the Ethnic Science Award competition 2022. The award is given out in two categories for a monograph, collection or full volume published in the past four years (2018—2022):

  1. ETHNIC SCIENCE AWARD: for academic work about Uralic national (ethnic) sciences (literature, linguistics, history, archaeology, ethnology, folklore studies) in any language;
  2. KINDRED PEOPLE’S SCIENCE AWARD: for academic work in any area written in a Uralic language.

Prize fund: 2,500 euros.

The deadline for submitting nominations is 31 August 2022.

This year, the competition welcomes the works of researchers who are based outside of the Russian Federation. Applications should be submitted electronically. We kindly ask you to familiarise yourself with the statute of the award and the guidelines for nominating candidates.

Laureates of the award will be announced on the Finno-Ugric Day, which falls on October 15th this year.

Kindred People’s Programme is the Estonian government aid programme for supporting the preservation and development of the languages and cultures of the Uralic (Finno-Ugric and Samoyed) indigeous people without their own statehood.
