Fenno-Ugria presented its latest publications at the Pärnu Literature Festival

Presentations of the book “Finno-Ugric peoples through the eyes of Estonians” by Fenno-Ugria and Argo and the Finno-Ugric Calendar 2026 took place at the Pärnu Literature Festival on 16 August. Present were Fenno-Ugria board members Madis Arukask, Tõnu Seilenthal, Aivar Ruukel, advisor Jaak Prozes, and author and Karelian language expert Jaan Õispuu, who sat on the audience side. The presenters talked about why the Finno-Ugric peoples are interesting to us, why our researchers have studied them, and what Estonians have learned from studying them. The discussion was moderated by Fenno-Ugria director Barbi Pilvre. There was also talk of Paul Ariste, whose portrait appears on the cover of the Finno-Ugric Calendar 2026 and on Fenno-Ugria’s new shirts.
