CIFU congress postponed, but online congress to take place
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the CIFU XIII has been postponed to August 2021. However, we will organize a virtual pre-congress in August 2020 (currently planned dates: 17th–19th August).
There will be no participation fees, but pre-registration is required. Instructions will appear soon on this page.
The pre-congress will probably use a Zoom webinar platform; the link to the webinar and other necessary information will be sent to registered participants by e-mail.
The pre-congress will work in 30-minute slots of real-time presentation and discussion; the virtual audience will be able to participate in the discussion via real-time chat. In addition to the presentations and discussions, there will be a public “static” page where accompanying material to the presentations (text files, slide shows or video clips) will be published.
More information about the programme.
Congressus Internationalis Fenno-Ugristarum (CIFU) is the most important international academic event for research on the Finno-Ugric (Uralic) languages, the cultures and history of their speakers. Since 1960, the Congresses have been organized every five years. The 13th congress in 2020 will be the first one to ever be organized outside the three Finno-Ugric nation-states or Russia.
