New Mari association registered in Finland
On 26 October, the Mari organisation Marij-Vij Tüvõra Ušem – Mari-Vij Kultuuriyhdistys, or Mari Force Cultural Association, was registered in Finland.
Previously, the Hill Mari Club, led by Valery Alikov (1960-2016) and Julia Kuprina (1974-2022), was active in Finland. Dina Frolova was elected chair of the new organisation, with Sergei Frolov and Raissa Tossavainen as founding members. On 7 December, the Finnish-Russian Cultural Society will hold a Christmas party to introduce the new society and Nadezhda Pashkina will perform Mari songs. The society invites everyone to participate.
