Finno ugric films in old Estonian manor

Already second year in a row a small but international film festival FUFF (Finno Ugric Film Festival) takes place in Sänna Culture Manor. It doesn’t mean only interesting film program but is more like a cozy forest festival with a lot of different activities for the whole family.

In this year FUFF will take place from 3th to 6th of July. In addition to film program there will be a lot of workshops, delicious vegan food and nice concerts in the evenings.

Throughout the festival, all the visitors are invited to participate in different workshops. Every day there will be experimental music workshop and animation workshop happening. No registration needed, also it doesn’t matter how old you are or if you have any previous experience in that field. For children there will be a comics workshop held by the finno-ugric activists.

The animation workshop is lead by Helen Unt who is very experienced in that field and is especially good at working with children. The experimental music workshop is happening second year and is lead by well known finnish multiinstrumentalist Otto Eskelinen, who is able to make an instrument out of everything. In the last year the participents of this workshop gave a magic night forest concert in Sänna.

In addition to self music-making there will be concerts by professional musicians every evening. On Thursday we will sing Estonian traditional folksongs by the bonfire with Anna Hints, on Friday one of the most famous Estonian folksinger Mari Kalkun will give a concert and on Saturday another folk singer Kristel Mägedi will perform.

In addition to all that of course the core part of the festival is a film program. The finno-ugric films are diffrent in a good way. These filmmakers come from traditional culture and their way of seeing life is more based on intuition than rational thinking. A lot of them are alo present in the festival so you will have a good possibility to hear comments on their films.

Three times a day we will offer delicious vegan food (breakfast, lunch and dinner). One meal costs 4 euros and has to be ordered before from www.fuff.ee

The festival pass costs 15 euros, 1-day ticket 5 euros. Free for the people under 18 years (included).
