The Finno-Ugric peoples have always strived for cooperation, and awareness of common linguistic and cultural roots has become a part of our national identity. The First World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples, held in 1992 in Sõktõvkar, the capital of the Komi Republic, exhibited these exact ways of thinking.
The congress that is held in every four years is one of the best opportunities to demonstrate the unity of our peoples and readiness for cooperation in education, culture, science and environment protection. However, the Finno-Ugric world needs uniting symbols, and one such symbol is the postage stamp issued by Eesti Post to commemorate the VIII World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples, which will be held in Tartu.
Event is part of the event series VIII World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples
