Lennart Meri's film journeys 1969-1988
The informational exhibition presents the making of Lennart Meri‘s legendary documentaries about the Finno-Ugric peoples (The Waterfowl People, The Winds of the Milky Way, The Voices of Kaleva and others) and introduces the cultures of our kindred peoples. The exhibition is based on photographic material taken during the expeditions, with texts by Enn Säde, the sound director who took part in the expedition.
In order to record the material for the films, repeated expeditions were made to the settlements of Finno-Ugric peoples in 1969-1988, and ethnographers, folklorists, artists and writers participated in the work of the film crew.
Compilers: accompanying texts written by Enn Säde, design by Peeter Laurits.
Additional programme: we also help to organise additional programmes to the exhibition - screenings of some of the above-mentioned documentaries and/or Jaak Lõhmus' 'Dances to the Milky Way', meetings with expedition participants, etc.
Volume: 14 easily installable lightweight PVC boards (75 x 100 cm). Packed in a transport box. The texts on the boards are in Estonian, with additional A3 boards in English and Russian available on request. Texts in foreign languages can also be printed in the same layout as A4 handouts.
