7th World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples
VII (7th) World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples Lahti, Finland June 15-17,1 2016
The Congress was held in Lahti’s Sibelius concert hall with a lead theme “Finno-Ugric Peoples: Towards Sustainable Development”. Key themes included the continuity of Finno-Ugric languages and cultures, development opportunities for the Finno-Ugric information space, relations between authorities and civil society, economy and environment and demographic processes. Presidents of Finland, Hungary and Estonia attended the Congress. On the final day the Congress adopted a resolution.
