Kindred Club 2026

A new season of Fenno-Ugria’s Kindred Club has begun at the Institute of the Estonian Language (Roosikrantsi 6) on Wednesdays at 5-6 pm. Mark the following days in your calendars:

21 January Kristiina Tambets, PhD (University of Tartu): the genetic heritage of Estonians or where do we come from;

4 February Rogier Blokland, PhD (University of Uppsala): Tornedalians Finns and Kvens;

18 February Arvis Kiristaja (archaeologist, toponymist): who are the Chudes and the Chukhnas;

4 March Eva Toulouze, PhD (University of Tartu): coming-of-age rituals of Udmurt youth, changes 1994-2019;

18 March Liivo Niglas, PhD (University of Tartu), the contemporary Nenets, films;

1 April Mika Keränen (writer): being Karelian and the Karelian language in Finland;

15 April István Bán (chairman, Mihály Munkáci Society of Hungarians in Estonia): Transcarpathian Hungarians;

29 April Jaak Prozes (Fenno-Ugria Foundation): 25 years of Kindred Club.
