Russia launches virtual atlas of Northern indigenous peoples
A multimedia portal, or virtual atlas, dedicated to the indigenous peoples of Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation has been launched in Russia. Among the Finno-Ugric peoples, there are profiles of the Mansi and the Khanty, while among the Samoyed peoples there are profiles of the Nenets, the Enets, the Nganasans and the Sölkups. In particular, the history, life and traditions of these peoples are covered. It gives an overview of their settlements, problems, languages and abundance. And, of course, the whole story of the discovery and conquest of Siberia and the Far East. In total, the atlas contains information on 40 peoples.
