Fenno-Ugria general assembly approved 2024 activities, elected new board

Fenno-Ugria’s general assembly on 11 June 2025 approved the Foundation’s 2024 financial and activity report. Also a new board was elected, composed of Madis Arukask, Sven-Erik Soosaar, Tõnu Seilenthal, Anti Lillak and Aivar Ruukel.

The assembly’s chairman, vice-chair of the board and expert on indigenous peoples, linguist Sven-Erik Soosaar talked about the experience of visiting the UN Permanent Forum for Indigenous Issues. Advisor Jaak Prozes invited people to plan together how to celebrate Fenno-Ugria’s 100th anniversary in 2027. Finally, journalist Kristi Kingo presented the new yearbook “Soome-ugri sõlmed 2024”.
