The awards are given for a monograph, collection<br>of articles or full volume published in the past four years (2022\u20132026):<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. URALIC ETHNIC STUDIES AWARD 2026 is given for academic work about Uralic<br>ethnic studies (literature, linguistics, history, archaeology, ethnology, and<br>folkloristics) in any language;<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH PUBLISHED IN A URALIC LANGUAGE AWARD 2026 is<br>given for academic work in any field written in a Uralic language.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deadline for submitting nominations is 15 September, 2026.<br>\u2022 anyone can make a nomination, and self-nominations are also permitted;<br>\u2022 this year, the call is open to researchers based outside the Russian Federation;<br>\u2022 applications should be submitted <a href=\"https:\/\/avaldus.eki.entu.ee\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electronically<\/a> by 15 September 2026.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We kindly ask you to familiarise yourself with the <a href=\"https:\/\/eki.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Uralic-Ethnic-Studies-Award-and-Scientific-Research-Published-In-A-Uralic-Language-Award.pdf\">statute of the award<\/a>.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Laureates of the awards will be announced on the Kindred Peoples&#8217; Day, which this year falls on<br>17 October.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eki.ee\/hoimurahvaste-rahvusteaduste-auhind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Kindred People\u2019s Programme<\/a> is an Estonian state programme aimed at supporting the<br>languages and cultures of Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic indigenous peoples.
