{"id":70693,"date":"2025-09-15T12:34:20","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T09:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fennougria.ee\/?p=70693"},"modified":"2025-09-15T12:47:06","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T09:47:06","slug":"book-on-finno-ugric-peoples-is-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fennougria.ee\/en\/book-on-finno-ugric-peoples-is-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Book on Finno-Ugric peoples by Fenno-Ugria and Argo is out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the book &#8220;Soomeugrilased eestlaste pilgu l\u00e4bi&#8221; (Finno-Ugric peoples through the eyes of Estonians), published in collaboration between Fenno-Ugria and Argo Publishing, Estonian researchers and cultural figures (Madis Arukask, T\u00f5nu Seilenthal, Ott Kurs, Aado Lintrop, Karl Pajusalu, Heinike Heinsoo, Jaan \u00d5ispuu, Jaak Prozes, Ott Heinapuu, Sven-Erik Soosaar, Laur Vallikivi, Eva Saar, Piret Koosa, Aivar Ruukel, Taisto Kalevi Raudalainen) recount their personal experiences with our kindred peoples.<\/p><p>The focus is primarily on the Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic peoples of Russia, with whom contact has almost ceased in recent years and who are facing a rapidly growing number of existential threats.<br>Maintaining contact with our linguistic and spiritual kin, and understanding their past and present, is also important for the survival of the Estonian nation and helps us to understand and preserve our own worldview.
