{"id":53028,"date":"2022-03-17T13:18:51","date_gmt":"2022-03-17T11:18:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fennougria.ee\/?p=53028"},"modified":"2022-03-17T18:40:18","modified_gmt":"2022-03-17T16:40:18","slug":"fenno-ugria-condemns-the-aggression-by-the-russian-federation-in-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fennougria.ee\/en\/fenno-ugria-condemns-the-aggression-by-the-russian-federation-in-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Fenno-Ugria condemns the aggression by the Russian Federation in Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 id=\"heading-19b74260\">STATEMENT<\/h2><h4 id=\"heading-3b00cd7e\">by Non-Profit Organisation Fenno-Ugria Asutus<\/h4><p><em>Pursuant o<\/em>n to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/about-us\/universal-declaration-of-human-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/a>, adopted on 10 December 1948 by the UN General Assembly,<\/p><p><em>building on<\/em> the document <a href=\"https:\/\/fennougria.ee\/en\/representative-bodies\/worldcongresses\/first\/declaration-1992\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cDeclaration of Fundamental Principles, Aims and Objectives of Cooperation of Finno-Ugric Peoples of the World\u201d<\/a>, adopted on 3 December 1992 by the I World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples, defining themselves as a voluntary union of equal kindred peoples, and as such including themselves in the European process of security and cooperation, and having as the aim of collaboration of our peoples the realisation of international standards in the spheres of peoples\u2019 right to self-determination, the rights of indigenous peoples, national minorities, and human rights,<\/p><p><em>building on<\/em> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2022\/3\/3\/unga-resolution-against-ukraine-invasion-full-text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">resolution \u201cAggression against Ukraine\u201d<\/a>, adopted on 2 March 2022 by the UN General Assembly, condemning the aggression by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, and demanding its immediate ceasing,<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>we find that<\/strong> military action initiated by the Russian Federation violates the standards of international law and is criminal;<\/li><li><strong>we condemn<\/strong> the statement in support of military action from 10 March 2022 by the <a href=\"https:\/\/fennougria.ee\/venemaa-foderatsiooni-rahvaste-assotsiatsioon-toetab-putinit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Association of the Finno-Ugric Peoples of the Russian Federation<\/a>;<\/li><li><strong>we do not consider cooperation<\/strong> possible with Finno-Ugric peoples\u2019 organisations and individuals that support military action against Ukraine by the Russian Federation, until they stop supporting the activities against humanity by the leadership of their country;<\/li><li><strong>we call<\/strong> upon Finno-Ugric peoples to return to the eternal values characteristic of our peoples that have no place for justifying war and violence;<\/li><li><strong>we continue to support<\/strong> Finno-Ugric peoples in their work in developing national languages and cultures;<\/li><li><strong>we value<\/strong> the languages and cultures of Finno-Ugric peoples as part of our common identity.<\/li><\/ul><hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/><p><em>Adopted on 15 March 2022 by the meeting of the Board of Fenno-Ugria Asutus.<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We do not consider cooperation possible with Finno-Ugric peoples\u2019 organisations and individuals that support military action against Ukraine by the Russian Federation, until they stop supporting the activities against humanity by the leadership of their country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":15,"featured_media":53091,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1096],"tags":[3475,3242,3503],"class_list":["post-53028","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-2022-en","tag-fenno-ugria-en","tag-war-in-ukraine-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 -
