The preparations of VIII World Congress due to begin in Tartu on June 16 are in full swing. At the regular meeting of the Advisory Committee of Fenno-Ugric Peoples and the World Congress Organizing Committee, held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, it was concluded that everything is ready for the hybrid format World Congress to begin. As a result of a lively discussion the slogan, “It’s easy to be together”, connecting all kindred peoples \u2013 delegates \u2013 was also conceived.<\/p>

VIII World Congress will take place in a hybrid format on June 16-18, 2021. The delegates will work either on the spot in Tartu, or over the Internet. This solutions allows global participation.<\/p>

Prints of the poster (see below) designed by artist Peeter Laurits will be decorating the streets of Tartu soon. The artist has borrowed images from ancient rock art and a woodworm. Fenno-Ugria published the versatile culture programme (exhibitions, films, concerts) on its website and in shared media. The events are held mostly in Tartu and support the main programme and focus of the congress: “Cultural landscapes \u2013 the language and the mind\u201d.<\/p>

The VIII World Congress of Finno-Ugric Peoples<\/a> will take place on 16-18. June,<\/strong> in Tartu at the Estonian National Museum. The opening and closing ceremonies of the congress can be watched live on the ERR News portal<\/a> and on the Fenno-Ugria website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
