However, we will organize a virtual pre-congress in August 2020 (currently planned dates: 17<sup>th<\/sup>\u201319<sup>th<\/sup> August).<\/strong><\/p><p>There will be no participation fees, but pre-registration is required. <a href=\"https:\/\/cifu13.univie.ac.at\/pre-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Instructions will appear soon on this page.<\/a><\/p><p>The pre-congress will probably use a Zoom webinar platform; the link to the webinar and other necessary information will be sent to registered participants by e-mail.<\/p><p>The pre-congress will work in 30-minute slots of real-time presentation and discussion; the virtual audience will be able to participate in the discussion via real-time chat. In addition to the presentations and discussions, there will be a public &#8220;static&#8221; page where accompanying material to the presentations (text files, slide shows or video clips) will be published.<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/cifu13.univie.ac.at\/pre-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More information about the programme<\/a>.<\/p><p>Congressus Internationalis Fenno-Ugristarum (CIFU) is the most important international academic event for research on the Finno-Ugric (Uralic) languages, the cultures and history of their speakers. Since 1960, the Congresses have been organized every five years.
