Kindred Peoples’ Days, the largest celebration of Finno-Ugric peoples in Estonia, have started. We look forward to seeing you again this year to participate and perform at Kindred Peoples’ Days in October. <\/p>

In connection with Narva being the Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture in 2025, these will mainly take place in Narva, but the program also includes events in Tallinn and Tartu. NB! Subject to change.<\/p>

TARTU<\/strong><\/p>

Fri 10 Oct 7pm<\/strong> Kindred Peoples’ Day community evening and traditional music concert<\/a> at Karlova Theatre (T\u00e4he 66). Mari Kum\u00f5l (Mari), V\u00e4ike Hellero (Estonian), Yumshan Gur (Udmurt), K\u00e4nnu Peal K\u00e4bi (Finno-Ugric).<\/p>

NARVA<\/strong><\/p>

Thu 16 Oct 2-6pm<\/strong> Fenno-Ugria’s Kindred Peoples’ Day conference “Ingria – land, people, culture”<\/a> on the traces of Ingrian and Finnish culture in Narva and Ida-Viru County at the Narva Town Hall (Raekoja plats 1).
The audience is greeted at the opening by performances of the Iloiset Yst\u00e4v\u00e4t choir of the Narva Ingrian Finnish Society and the dance group Mets\u00e4kukat of the Ida-Viru Ingrian Finnish Society.<\/p>

Thu 16 Oct 5.30pm<\/strong> opening of the fashion exhibition “H\u00f5imul\u00f5im”<\/a> at Narva Art Residency (Joala 18)
A free-of-charge bus will transport the participants of the exhibition to the Georg Buljo Duo concert.<\/p>

Thu 16 Oct 7pm<\/strong> Georg Buljo Duo (Norway, Saami) concert<\/a> at the lobby of the University of Tartu Narva College (Raekoja plats 2)<\/p>

Fri 17 Oct 12-4.30pm<\/strong> Kindred Peoples’ Day literature conference “The concept of ‘freedom’ in East European literatures VIII”<\/a> at the University of Tartu Narva College (Raekoja plats 2).

Fri 17 Oct 5pm<\/strong> opening of the exhibition “Mune veelinnu pesast” (Eggs from the Nest of the Water Bird) by T\u00f5nu Seilenthal, professor emeritus at the University of Tartu and linguist, at the Rugodiv Cultural Centre (Pu\u0161kini 8) with the author in attendance.
Anna Makeev and members of the Tallinn Mari Society and the Tartu Mari Union will welcome the audience with songs and dances.<\/p>
