V\u00f5ros are considered straightforward, hospitable and more temperamental than northern Estonians.\u00a0The role of the community is still quite high in the V\u00f5ro countryside, and extended families are rather important also for urban V\u00f5ros. many ancient customs have been preserved in V\u00f5ro villages and there are extensive records of V\u00f5ro folk songs and stories.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Sound of the V\u00f5ro language (Numbers, Phrases &amp; Sample Text)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oZ_I2Lo1BGk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The Sound of the V\u00f5ro language (Numbers, Phrases &amp; Sample Text)\/YT@<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@ilovelanguages0124\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ilovelanguages!<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><h3 id=\"heading-d2350761\"><strong>Modern Times&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3><p>V\u00f5ro language and culture has been valorised more highly since the 1990s. <a href=\"https:\/\/wi.ee\/en\/\">V\u00f5ru Institute<\/a> &#8211; a national research and development institution involved with V\u00f5ro language and culture has been operating since 1995, including organising teaching of the V\u00f5ro language. A&nbsp; significant body of V\u00f5ro-language literature has been created. There is also a V\u00f5ro-language version of Wikipedia.<br>Fully V\u00f5ro-language newspaper <em>Uma Leht<\/em> is published twice a month.
